Mini ep. 7: Cold Case

Starring: Colonel Mace

With: Captain Price and Captain Gifford.

And: Sally, Greyhound 19, commander Storolox

It was late February, when another ship was seen heading for Earth. UNIT had issued a code red. Colonel Mace, Captain Gifford and Captain Price were watching intently. It was in the shape of an Octopus and it was heading for Great Britain.
“These aliens are called the Octopli,” Captain Price said, as she put on the main screen a profile on them. Colonel Mace started to read.
“They are at war themselves”, Colonel Mace mentioned as he read, “8 armed. They are scavengers and war mongers according to the files. But these are from the 90’s allot has changed since then”.
“Sir the spaceship”, Captain Gifford called and pointed at his monitor. The red blip on the screen was approaching London, South London and Hyde Park. “It’s landed”. The Ground shook slightly.
“But we’re in South London”, Captain Price blurted out. The UNIT base had moved since the dalek invasion as the daleks knew exactly where it was. The new UNIT base was right next to Hyde Park.

“Everybody to your positions”, Colonel Mace ordered, “Guns out if they attack then open fire”.
“Normal bullets may not be enough to finish them off”, said Sally a UNIT member who was sitting at a computer, “according to these files, we may need some anti oil”.
“Torchwood has been producing them, oh and guess where we were keeping our stock”, Captain Gifford pointed out the window at a small warehouse which was closer to Hyde park than the UNIT base.
“To the warehouse”, Colonel Mace ordered and the UNIT men started running with their guns towards the warehouse, led by Captain Gifford.

“They’re emerging from the ship”, Captain Price said looking at the screen. She typed something in, so they could see through the CCTV network. On the screen appeared the ship and their leaving the ship were hundreds of octopli.
“The anti- oil is called Hudson”, Sally continued as she searched through the UNIT Files, “It will get rid of the oil in an octopli’s body and they need the oil, to move, and to live. If they are hit with some Hudson, then they will die very quickly”.
“We’d all better get their come on”, Colonel Mace said as all of the soldiers left the base with Colonel Mace. The soldiers all headed for the warehouse, leaving Captain Price, Sally and several over staff members at the base. All the UNIT members could talk, via high tech walky-talkies. The first UNIT members were approaching the warehouse but so were the first octopli.

“You’ve got octopli forces heading your way sir over”, Captain Price said to Colonel Mace using the walky-talkies, “They are smashing through the windows at the back”.
“Greyhound 19 lead your forces in first”, Colonel Mace ordered.
“Yes sir”, Greyhound 19 lead the way inside, followed by several other troops.
“Greyhound 19 get to the back of the warehouse”, Sally instructed using the walky-talkies, “The Hudson is at the front so if you can protect it. Then we can get all of it back to base”. But there was no time to get any of the Hudson out as the octopli smashed through the window and all the UNIT soldiers hid. One of the octopli’s commanders was called Commander Storolox he was taller and stronger than most of the other octopli.

“It is here, find the Hudson find it!” Commander Storolox ordered and the octopli started searching but then they realised that they were surrounded. Some octopli got out carrying boxes of Hudson.
“Fire!” Greyhound 19 shouted and the bangs of the guns were heard. A few octopli fell down but many got out their guns and started firing laser type bullets. Many soldiers then fell to the ground dead. The bullets seemed to be much less effective than the octopli’s strange bullets.

“Sir we need reinforcements”, Greyhound 19 shouted down the walky-talkie to Colonel Mace. Outside the factory Captain Gifford was giving orders.
“Right squad 8 you must get as many boxes of Hudson out, squad 9, 10, 11 you must go in to fight”, Captain Gifford started.
“Captain Gifford Greyhound 19 says he needs reinforcements”, Colonel Mace said.
“Right, yes sir, squad 9, 10, 11 in !”, Captain Gifford obeyed and ran in leading the three squads. Back inside UNIT were now winning the war of the warehouse but with some casualties, “Where’s the medic”, Captain Gifford asked as he dodged a bullet.

“Sir”, asked an octopli, “How come they knew we were here and how do they know about Hudson”.
“UNIT base”, Commander Storolox announced, “Find UNIT base and attack!” He said as Captain Gifford ran round the corner and started firing. Squad 8 ran in and started grabbing boxes. Just then more octopli entered, “KILL all UNIT members”, Commander Storolox said to the new troops.
“Sir there are too many”, Greyhound 19 said down the walky-talkie, “arghhhhhhh”. He had been killed along with many others even captain Gifford had been injured and was dragged out. Colonel Mace himself then ran inside, the few UNIT soldiers that were left formed a line behind him.

“You will surrender”, Commander Storolox ordered but Colonel Mace kicked a box of Hudson and that toppled hundreds of boxes over, which caused them to open and out poured Hudson. The octopli started shrivelling up as they all got splashed. The octopli forces were down.

“Sir they’ve found us”, Captain Price said using the Walky-talkies, “they know we’re here”. Just then the octopli smashed through the windows at UNIT base and there was pandemonium. Captain Price grabbed a machine gun and started firing along with many others but some who had no experience in fighting ran.

The octopli were laughing and firing but killing no-one as people were moving too quickly. Then a few more smashed through the window and cornered Captain Price. They were about to fire when there was a bleeping noise and on their contact devices appeared a message. It was abort the invasion and so the octopli did they ran straight out the window.

“Well that’s a cold case”, Colonel Mace said down the walky-talkie.
“Tell me sir have you been watching that CCTV from Royal Hope hospital”, Captain Price asked amused.
“Just for filing”, Colonel Mace said down the walky-talkie.
“Case closed”, Captain Price said in a deep voice and laughed as the UNIT forces returned to their base and the octopli ship flew away.

The End
