Episode X: The Boy Who Santa Claus Forgot Part 1

“Well”, the Doctor said breaking the silence, “We’d better drop Catherine and Beth off and Zac and Kaylie”.
“Yes”, Zac said swallowing, “Our families are in Portsmouth, hopefully”.
“I can’t believe he’s…he’s…” Kaylie said, talking about Harry and Conner. Kaylie began to cry again and Georgia hugged her crying too. Catherine and Beth remained passed out slumped on the TARDIS chair. Zac breathed deeply. The Doctor moved around the TARDIS console slowly pressing a couple of buttons and pulling a lever, until the TARDIS dematerialised from the inside of the wrecked Spidership and landed in Portsmouth docks. Zac opened the door of the TARDIS and saw his parents and Kaylie’s mum gawping at the TARDIS. Zac hugged his mum. The Doctor dragged Catherine and Beth out, with the help of a tearful Georgia.

“What’s wrong Zac?” Jane, Zac's mum, said, “What’s happened?” Kaylie let go of Georgia and walked out of the TARDIS wiping the tears from her eyes and not looking back. She saw her mum and hugged her too.
“Kaylie, it’s OK”, Karen, Kaylie’s mum was saying, “Your sisters are safe, several passenger ferry’s turned up to pick up the people in the lifeboats”.
“It’s Harry, he’s..he’s”, Kaylie said.
“Where’s Conner, Zac?” Steve Zac’s dad asked.
“He’s… gone”, Zac replied breathing. Jane and Steve’s faces fell.

“We’ll be off Zac, we need to make sure Georgia’s parents are OK”, the Doctor said to Zac.
“Bye Kaylie”, Georgia managed to say through her tears, “Bye Zac”. The Doctor turned with a frown on his face and Georgia followed him closing the TARDIS doors. Zac and Kaylie turned as they saw the TARDIS dematerialise. They turned and walked away with their families. Catherine and Beth rubbed their eyes and looked about.

“What happened?” Beth asked, “Ow my head is sore”.
“Do we have a hangover?” Catherine asked.
“I don’t think so”, Beth said, “Arggh the spiders I remember them!”
“Were we on the Spidership?” Catherine asked.
“Yes!” Beth replied loudly. Beth realised she was lying on the ground and stood up, looking around to check if anyone knew she had been on the ground.
“Perhaps the spiders wiped our minds?” Catherine said, as Beth began to walk away and Catherine got up and began to follow her, “Or maybe it was the Doctor bloke. Are you sure that isn’t the Spidership? I do remember those soldiers, perhaps they’ve killed us and we’re in some heavenly world. Beth wait for me!”

Back inside the TARDIS, the Doctor pulled a lever and Georgia sat on the now vacated seat. Suddenly, the TARDIS lurched.
“Not more trouble!” Georgia shouted.
“It’s the TARDIS it’s picked up a distress signal”, the Doctor said, “We should follow it”.
“But I need to see my parents!” Georgia replied, “What if they are dead?”
“The TARDIS won’t listen to my commands, it’s controlling itself”, the Doctor said, “We’re being pulled through time!” The TARDIS lurched violently and Georgia fell over. The Doctor stumbled and landed on the TARDIS floor, as it flew itself through time. Suddenly, it stopped.

“Where are we?” Georgia asked.
“South London”, the Doctor said. The Doctor walked out of the TARDIS followed closely by Georgia. They walked onto a light street. It was early in the morning.

“This is Porter Street, it’s a couple of block’s from my parents house”, Georgia told the Doctor, “But what time of year I wonder, we travelled through time, a year might have gone by”.
“Let’s find out”, the Doctor replied walking up to a milkman who had just parked nearby and put two bottles of milk outside someone’s door. “Excuse me Mr. Milkman, what day is this?”

“I’m Mr. Slater actually”, Mr. Slater replied.

“Rob! I didn’t recognise you!” Georgia said barging the Doctor out of the way, “It’s been nearly a year!”
“More than a year Georgie”, Rob Slater replied, “I left school in year 12 in July 2009, you were in year 11 and left earlier after doing your GCSE’s”.
“Well what time of year is it now?” Georgia asked.
“It’s Christmas Eve!” Rob Slater said, “And this Christmas is gonna be wicked!”

CREDITS

“Christmas Eve, Doctor!”Georgia said to the Doctor as they got back to the TARDIS.
“Sorry, it wasn’t my fault”, the Doctor replied.
“It’s weird seeing Rob after all this”, Georgia said, “I mean last time me and him saw each other was before I met you, and that was last Christmas. So much has happened since then”.
“Yes, a lot has happened”, the Doctor replied, “Anyway I wonder where this distress signal came from”.
“Can’t you look for it on the TARDIS screen?” Georgia asked.
“No, the signals gone”, the Doctor answered.
“What if the thing that was in distress has died?” Georgie suggested.
“I fear that’s what’s happened”, the Doctor told Georgia. Suddenly, there was a knock on the TARDIS door.
“It could be a monster”, Georgia said. Georgia looked at the Doctor nervously, who looked at the door with wide eyes. The Doctor walked slowly towards the TARDIS door, before opening it a touch and peering outside. The Doctor was startled to see that a policeman stood outside the door.

“Who is it?” Georgia asked.
“Just a policeman”, the Doctor replied as he slipped through the gap in the door to face the policeman.
“Have you got a license for this ‘ere police box?” the policeman asked.
“Yes, of course I do”, the Doctor answered smiling.
“Then can I see your papers for this ‘ere police box?” the Policeman asked. The Doctor nodded and got his psychic paper out of his pocket. Georgia was glad that the Doctor had this with him all the time, whether it was to get them on board the Spidership, or to pretend he was a lord.

“There you go Mr. Policeman”, the Doctor said showing the policeman his psychic paper, “I am Mr. John Smith, a police box collector and there is my license to have this police box ‘ere”. The Doctor smiled widely but the policeman stared at the paper blankly and raised his eyebrows.
“There’s nothing on that paper!” the policeman replied, “It must be psychic paper”.
“What? How do you know that?” Georgia asked stepping out of the TARDIS.
“’Cause there ‘ave been several bank robberies around ‘ere”, the policeman explained, “The person who stole all the loot had a pass to get into the room, but when you look on CCTV there is nothing on the paper and yet, everyone who saw the paper in real life saw Mr. Core, bank inspector”.

“Doctor, have you been burgling banks?” Georgia questioned.
“No, I have not honestly”, the Doctor told the man.
“All right I believe you unless you’re a very good actor”, the policeman told the Doctor, and “I’m PC Walsh by the way. Oh and if that is psychic paper then you need to get a license for that thing, so you’d better get it shifted right away!”
“Right away, PC”, the Doctor replied as the Policeman walked away down the street.

“Someone has been burgling banks”, Georgia muttered, “Using psychic paper”.
“The thing is, psychic paper is pretty hard to come by, so it’s very likely it’s an alien robbing these banks”, the Doctor explained, “But first, your parents Georgia”. Georgia smiled and entered the TARDIS.

In South London Elizabeth and Colin Bell had been reading the paper. The article inside had listed the dead aboard the Spidership. They saw Conner’s name on there and Harry’s. They had never met Harry, but had read about him, Zac and Kaylie in Georgia’s diary. Elizabeth looked up, suddenly hearing a noise.
“Can you hear that?” Elizabeth asked.
“What, the Christmas music?” Colin asked.
“No, I think it’s the TARDIS!” Elizabeth exclaimed, “She’s come home!”
“What if it’s the Doctor, alone?” Colin asked.
“Don’t think horrid thoughts”, Elizabeth replied running into the hall and grabbing her coat, “If Georgia wasn’t with him, why would he return?”
“To say sorry”, Colin replied, but Elizabeth ignored him and grabbed her coat. She rushed out into the street to find Georgia running towards her. Elizabeth stopped and held her arms out. Georgia ran to Elizabeth and hugged her.

“We thought you were dead”, Elizabeth muttered In Georgia’s ear.
“I’m so sorry, but the Doctor had TARDIS troubles”, Georgia replied smiling.
“You are presumed dead, and Conner”, Elizabeth told Georgia, “And your friend Harry. I suppose they’re with you”.
“They died mum”, Georgia said, her eyes filling with tears, “They both really did die”. Elizabeth looks saddened by this but was glad that Georgia was fine. The Doctor appeared behind Georgia smiling. Colin also walked into the street, from his house, and Georgia hugged him too. Suddenly, footsteps and shouts were heard. Zac and Kaylie rushed round the corner of Elizabeth’s street.

“There you are!” Kaylie said loudly, “You vanish for two months and another load of monsters arrive in London!” The Doctor’s smile faded.
“Zac, Kaylie nice to see you too”, the Doctor replied as Zac and Kaylie came to a halt.

“We just saw you a couple of minutes ago”, Georgia said forgetting that it was now Christmas.
“What?” Zac asked, “Oh, the TARDIS brought you forward in time”.
“That’s right, it was accidental”, the Doctor answered, “What did you say about aliens?”
“There are even more of them!” Kaylie said, “We thought we’d just check out this place but then…” Suddenly stomping down the street, obviously following Zac and Kaylie, was a silvery, armoured man.
“We don’t have time Kaylie!” Zac said quickly, “I thought I recognised it, but I wasn't sure. What is it?"
“It can’t be, they died”, the Doctor said.
“Doctor, what?” Georgia asked.

“It’s a Cyberman!”
