Episode 1: The Ace of Spades Part 5
“Conner, tell them not to!” the Queen of Diamonds exclaimed.
“All intruders will be found and executed,” the cards chanted.
“What do you mean, they won’t listen to me,” Conner replied.
“Trust me, tell them to stop, you are the Jack of Spades,” the Queen of Diamonds explained, “They have to obey you!”
“As the Jack of Spades, I order you to stop!” Conner ordered, and the cards halted.
“You aren’t the Jack,” the 10 of Spades muttered, “You look different.”
“I am the Jack,” Conner replied, “The old Jack has gone.” The cards stared at Conner for a second, before continuing to advance.
“What are you doing?” the Queen of Diamonds asked frantically, “You heard the Jack!”
“Even if he is the Jack, his authority is not above the Queen’s,” the 10 of Spades answered, “So we do not have to follow his orders.”
“But as the Jack, he is not an intruder!” the Queen of Diamonds exclaimed.
“This is his first time to this castle, and he broke in with you, which makes you intruders!” the 10 of Spades snarled, “Now we will execute you.” The card guards grew closer and closer, with their spears pointing directly at the Queen and Conner. Suddenly, 4 figures burst into the room wielding swords and guns. Conner recognised them as the King of Hearts, the King of Diamonds and the King and Queen of Clubs.
“Care for some assistance?” the King of Clubs asked, whacking the 10 of Spades on the head with a large wooden club.
“All intruders will be executed,” the guards chanted, and the new arrivals began to fight them.
“Quick, get to the mirror!” the King of Diamonds told the Queen and Conner, who both rushed towards the stairs to find more guards blocking their way.
“Idiot cards,” the Queen of Clubs muttered as he sliced them in half with a sword, “Well go on you two, quickly.”
“I don’t understand, why’re you here?” the Queen of Diamonds asked.
“Well, we told your ‘usband that is was irresponsible to let you and the human go up to the Spades castle on your own,” the King of Clubs explained, “So we rallied some support, the rest of our armies are bombarding the gates, we used our special powers to get in.”
“Basically, the Spades are going down!” the Queen of Clubs announced, “Now hurry up!” The Queen of Diamonds nodded and led Conner up the stairs.
Back in the Casino, the Doctor staggered blindly out of the poker room. The Ace of Spades had hit him with its smoke, but due to the Doctor’s two hearts he had not fallen unconscious. Back in the room, people were running in all directions as others fell to the floor. Mystic ran under a table, as Manajarr fell to the ground. Energisa ran past Teeena, who was staring at the Queen of Spades with a fearful look.
“STOP!” Energisa shrieked as the smoke hit her and she collapsed.
“No!” Teeena shouted, as she made a run for the door. A wisp of smoke shot past her, missing her by inches, then she made it into the corridor, where she found the Doctor. Mystic ran out from under the table and ran for the door too, but a wisp of smoke shot straight at him. The smoke passed through him, and did no harm; Mystic smiled with a glint in his eye before running from the room.
“The Doctor’s gone!” the King of Spades shouted.
“Then follow him, NOW!” Gisgerm ordered.
“Teeena, Mystic, you’re ok, good, I’ll need you Mystic, let’s go now!” the Doctor said, “Come on!” The Doctor ran down the Casino corridor, and Mystic and Teeena reluctantly followed him.
“Where are we going?” Teeena asked, “And what’s happened to Energisa, and Georgia? Are they dead?”
“They’ve been knocked out,” the Doctor replied, “If the Ace had wanted to kill then when it hit me one of my hearts would have stopped.”
“What do you mean one of your hearts?” Mystic asked.
“I have two hearts, anyway, lets get on,” the Doctor answered.
“But you still haven’t said where we’re going,” Teeena pointed out.
“We’re going to Gisgerm’s offices,” the Doctor explained, “He has something we need.”
“But we have no means of getting to Gisgerm’s offices,” Teeena replied.
“He’s mysterious about that,” Mystic muttered.
“Yes, you’d know,” the Doctor replied.
“What do you mean?” Mystic asked, with a guilty look on his face.
“Gisgerm’s made a deal with you, hasn’t he?” the Doctor replied.
“No, why would he take money off me?” Mystic questioned.
“To find out more about the Pack of Wizards, you’ve tried to hide your secret,” the Doctor explained, “But as soon as Teeena informed me that your ancestors were apparently magicians, I realised, you are the last surviving ancestor of the wizard who brought to life the pack of cards.”
“How did you know that?” Mystic asked.
“You’re allied with Gisgerm!” Teeena said angrily, “How could you?! I thought you were nice."
“I am, Gisgerm just wanted information on the cards, he gave me money, which I needed, because I’d been losing money gambling,” Mystic explained, “Gisgerm had heard about the Pack of Wizards from an old card player, he met me and made the connection, it isn’t often you meet magicians. My family had kept our ancestry a secret for ages; I didn’t believe the story at first. We had a vague idea what had happened to the pack, we knew it was on the planet Casino, here, but we had no idea where the Aces were.”
“Did your family ever explain about the Aces?” the Doctor asked.
“Yes, the Aces are the power cards, when they are alone they can cause havoc, but when they are together peace follows, except for the fact that people from the card world keep turning up,” Mystic answered.
“We need the other Aces, to stop the Spades and the Ace itself,” the Doctor explained, “And the thing about Gisgerm is that he’s very clever, very clever, in fact so clever that he built his base right under the poker section of the Casino.”
“What, but he couldn’t do that without anyone noticing,” Teeena commented.
“Oh really,” the Doctor replied, as he pointed his sonic screwdriver to the floor and buzzed it. A hole appeared in the floor beneath the Doctor, Teeena and Mystic’s feet and they fell through the hole onto the ground below.
“Where are we?” Teeena asked, looking around and holding her head in pain.
“Like I said, Gisgerm’s offices,” the Doctor explained, as he turned on the lights with his sonic screwdriver. The lights revealed that they were in a large reception area, with stairs going to the floor above on one side of the wall.
“Why didn’t we take the stairs?” Teeena asked in an annoyed voice.
“It’s less fun that way, plus we’d have to find the secret entrance,” the Doctor explained.
“Couldn’t you have buzzed it open with that thing?” Mystic asked.
“Meh,” the Doctor replied, “This way.”
Conner and the Queen of Diamonds rushed up the staircase until they reached one of the highest floors in the castle.
“It’s on this floor,” the Queen of Diamonds said.
“Are you sure?” Conner asked.
“I once came for a peace conference here,” the Queen explained, “I saw the Jack enter a room on this floor, that door!” The Queen ran over to the door, followed closely by Conner. She opened the door and they entered a large bed chamber. The bed was surrounded by black and dark purple curtains, and directly opposite the bed was a large ancient-looking mirror.
“I just walk through there?” Conner asked.
“That’s right, you just walk through the mirror,” the Queen of Diamonds said nodding.
“Thanks for all your help, I’ll see you later, when all the trouble has passed,” Conner said smiling, as he made a movement towards the mirror.
“Wait!” the Queen of Diamonds called.
“What?” Conner asked.
“Can I come with you?” the Queen of Diamonds asked sheepishly.
“Of course,” Conner answered gladly, before adding, “Your majesty.”
“You know very few people call me that,” the Queen said grinning, “I have to hold your hand, otherwise I won’t be allowed through.” Conner and the Queen held hands as they stepped through the mirror back into the real world.
“Get down!” the Queen of Diamonds hissed to Conner, as he found himself back in the Poker room of the Casino. The Queen was pulling him under a table, as Conner heard low voices nearby. He suddenly realised that there were bodies all over the ground.
“No,” Conner said quietly, as he saw Georgia lying inches from the table.
“I sense the Ace of Spades,” the Queen of Diamonds whispered, “I think it’s on the table above us.” The King of Spades gazed over at the Ace of Spades, which the Queen had left on a table to keep the people in the room unconscious. The King returned his gaze to the Queen of Spades, who looked agitated.
“What’s wrong dear?” the King of Spades asked the Queen.
“I’ve lost telepathic contact with 10,” the Queen of Spades replied.
“What do you think has happened?” the King of Spades asked.
“I don’t know,” the Queen replied, “I’ll get the Jack to check it out.”
“Oh I know what’s happened,” the Queen of Diamonds said, standing up.
“The Queen of Diamonds!” the Queen of Spades hissed.
“That’s right,” the Queen of Diamonds replied, “Conner, take the Ace.” Conner obeyed and picked up the Ace of Spades, which did nothing.
“Give that back!” the King of Spades ordered, stepping forward.
“I’d worry less about us, your castle’s being bombarded,” the Queen of Diamonds replied, “This is what happens when you put the real world before your kingdom. Bye!” The Queen of Diamonds led Conner quickly into the kitchen, as the King and Queen of Spades began to rush after them. The Queen of Diamonds slammed the door to the kitchen and she and Conner moved a large fridge to barricade the door.
“Let us in now, and we won’t kill you!” the Queen of Spades shouted.
“Yeah, because you can kill us when you aren’t even in the same room,” Conner said sarcastically.
“We shall activate the Ace of Spades!” the King of Spades announced.
“Because you have the Ace of Spades,” Conner replied sarcastically.
“No, but we can communicate with it telepathically,” the Queen of Spades snapped, and immediately the Ace began to emit smoke. Conner opened the door of the fridge and threw the card inside.
“Why did you do that?” the Queen of Diamonds asked.
“I thought it would be cool,” Conner said grinning, “Well, I may have seen a similar thing in a TV programme.”
“What’s a TV?” the Queen of Diamonds asked blankly.
“Are you dead yet?” the King of Spades called from the next room.
“Not quite yet, your maj,” the Queen of Diamonds replied.
“Uh oh,” Conner commented, as he spotted smoke spilling out of cracks in the fridge and backed away from it.
“Conner, listen to me, you are the Jack of Spades, as you are on his card,” the Queen of Diamonds explained, “Which means you are linked telepathically with the Ace, you have to tell it to stop!”
“I’m not the Jack of Spades!” Conner yelled.
“Yes you are!” the Queen of Diamonds hissed frantically, “Conner, you can do this, I know you can, link with the Ace, or we may die.” Conner closed his eyes and thought of the Ace and him telling it to stop, suddenly he felt the presence of the Ace, and the force of it, and the darkness of it.
“No!” Conner yelled, falling to the floor.
“Conner, are you alright?” the Queen of Diamonds asked, as she crouched beside him, but Conner did not move, but his eyes flashed open, but his eyes were completely black.
“Conner, you can stop the Ace!” the Queen of Diamonds repeated, “I know you can, concentrate!”
The Doctor rushed into the room adjacent to the reception area, where he found a large office/living room.
“Doctor, how did you really know where this place was?” Teeena asked.
“Don’t you believe that my instinct brought me here?” the Doctor asked, slightly taken aback.
“No, I think you just followed Gisgerm here in one of the breaks between poker games,” Teeena replied, “You and him vanished at one of the breaks."
“All right you caught me,” the Doctor replied, “Anyway; we’re looking for a vault.”
“Like that one there?” Mystic asked, pointing at a huge blue vault on the opposite wall.
“It’s likely,” the Doctor said, racing over to the vault and taking out his sonic screwdriver and buzzing it against the vault. The Doctor’s face fell.
“What’s wrong?” Mystic asked, in a concerned voice.
“Nothing actually, prove your powers and open that vault for us,” the Doctor replied.
“I don’t have any powers, none of my living family do, and the only family member who seemed to have powers was my ancestor who apparently brought the cards to life,” Mystic replied.
“But even so, you’ve been feeling something different recently in the Casino,” the Doctor said, “Ever since the Ace arrived, you’ve been feeling dread, and now you that feeling have been replaced by happiness, greediness and love.”
“How could you know that?” Mystic asked.
“The Aces of Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs are in the vault, and we need them,” the Doctor told Mystic, “You need to link with them, you shouldn’t find it hard, because you are related to the man who brought them to life.” There was a loud banging noise from the other room, and Teeena spun round.
“Doctor, I think Gisgerm’s arrived,” Teeena told the Doctor.
“Stall him,” the Doctor told her.
“I’ll try,” Teeena replied, as she ran into the next room, where she found and agitated Gisgerm, and a few of his employees.
“What are you doing here?” Gisgerm asked.
“I can contact the Head of the Casino right now, and inform him that you have built a secret headquarters beneath the Casino,” Teeena replied, ignoring Gisgerm’s question.
“If you even dial the number, I will get you killed,” Gisgerm snarled.
“If you don’t tell me everything then I will get you killed,” Teeena replied.
“Check the next room!” Gisgerm told his employees, “I don’t think she’s clever enough to find this place.”
“Don’t you dare go into the next room! I am talking to you!” Teeena shouted at Gisgerm’s employees. Teeena and Gisgerm stood staring interestedly at each other, while loud thumping noises came from the next room. A few seconds later Gisgerm’s employees appeared, dragging the Doctor and Mystic.
“We found them sitting on the sofa in the next room,” one of Gisgerm’s employees explained.
“We thought we’d have a cuppa,” the Doctor said smiling.
“One of you grab her,” Gisgerm ordered, and Teeena was grabbed from behind, “We’re taking you upstairs, the Spades can deal with you.” Teeena looked anxiously at the Doctor, who winked back, making Teeena smile.
The smoke stopped emitting from the fridge, and Conner’s eyes closed. The Queen of Diamonds smiled and hugged Conner, who got up and rubbed his eyes.
“Well done, you did it!” the Queen of Diamonds told Conner.
“Wow, I don’t really remember doing it,” Conner commented.
“You still aren’t dead?” the King of Spades called from the next room in a disbelieving voice.
“You don’t think that the boy is telepathically linked with the Ace too, do you?” the Queen of Spades asked her husband.
“He’s with the Queen of Diamonds, she may have told him,” the King of Spades replied, “Hang on, the Ace will continue to attack on either of our orders, we are better than the Jack.”
“Someone say my name?” the Jack of Spades said, waltzing into the room.
“Stop that,” the Queen of Spades snapped.
“Sorry,” the Jack of Spades muttered.
“Because of you, that human boy is now the Jack of Spades, his face is on the card, why, oh why, could you not have just knocked him unconscious?” the Queen of Spades explained.
“Idiot,” the King of Spades muttered.
“I thought it would be better to trap him, you know, freak out the Doctor when he saw the face on the card,” the Jack replied.
“Oh shut it,” the Queen of Spades snapped. Suddenly, the doors to the poker room burst open again, and Gisgerm walked into the room, followed closely by the Doctor, Teeena and Mystic, who were flanked by Gisgerm’s employees.
“Oh hello, Doctor, how kind of you to join us,” the Queen of Spades said smiling.
“Where is the Ace?” Gisgerm asked.
“Well, the Queen of Diamonds showed up, along with the human boy that the Jack trapped in the card world,” the King of Spades explained, “It’s all Jack’s fault really, he basically got the Ace to turn Conner into the Jack of Spades.”
“It was not my fault!” the Jack of Spades retorted.
“Are you telling me, that the Ace of Spades is gone?” Gisgerm asked slowly.
“Maybe, but it’s only in the kitchen, but they’ve barricaded the door,” the King of Spades answered.
“Fetch the Ace,” Gisgerm snapped at his employees, who dashed from the room, “Now then, Doctor, what were you doing in my headquarters below.”
“The question is, what are your headquarters doing below?” Teeena questioned.
“Shut up, you silly thing,” Gisgerm snapped, “Doctor?”
“I was trying to find out what your plans were, and I knew it was there because I followed you there in one of the breaks in the poker game,” the Doctor explained.
“Get off me!” the Queen of Diamonds yelled, as the door to the kitchen swung open and she and Conner were dragged through it by Gisgerm’s henchmen, into the poker room. Another of Gisgerm’s men was carrying the Ace of Spades, which he placed on a table in the centre of the room.
“Doctor!” Conner exclaimed, “I thought I’d never see you again.”
“I always knew you’d be back,” the Doctor replied, “Didn’t tell Georgia though, best not to get her hopes up.”
“Is she dead?” Conner asked.
“No, just knocked out,” the Doctor answered, “And you must be...?”
“The Queen of Diamonds,” the Queen of Diamonds replied, “Conner’s told me so much about you.”
“Really?” the Doctor asked grinning.
“No, I already knew alot about you, being immortal; I have heard alot of things,” the Queen of Diamonds answered smiling.
“All right, enough with the chat, no more of it, you shall all be killed by the Ace of Spades, it will absorb the energy and then turn the Spades immortal in this world,” Gisgerm explained, “Nothing will be able to harm them, they shall never die, they’ll be my best army ever, and there’s only 3 of them! I shall take over the Universe easily.”
“Firstly, we need to reverse what the Jack did to this boy,” the Queen of Spades told Gisgerm, “Or he’ll become immortal instead of the Jack.” The Queen stepped over to the Ace, while the King of Spades pulled the Jack of Spades card from Georgia’s pocket and placed it beside the Ace. The Jack of Spades stood beside the Ace, and Gisgerm’s henchmen forced Conner to stand beside him.
“Now,” the Queen of Spades closed her eyes, and smoke shot out of the Ace and hit Conner and the Jack. Conner fell to the floor, unconscious, while the Jack smiled, and checked his card, which now had his face back on it.
“And now, for the Ace to kill the Doctor and his friends,” Gisgerm said leering.
“Why didn’t you kill the others?” the Doctor asked.
“Because it would be easier to just kill you, Time Lord,” Gisgerm replied, “Spades control the Ace, make it shine.” The Ace began to emit smoke, that was much thicker and blacker than the smoke made before, and it was heading straight for the Doctor, Teeena, Mystic, and the Queen of Diamonds. The Doctor broke free of the henchmen holding him and took 3 cards from his pocket.
“Not so fast, I have here the three other power cards, or the Aces,” the Doctor replied, pointing the cards at the Ace of Spades. The Doctor closed his eyes, but nothing happened.
“Doctor, what are we going to do?” Teeena asked, as Mystic broke free of the henchmen holding him too.
“Hang on,” Mystic said, running over to the Doctor, as the Ace’s smoke reached the Queen of Diamonds, who was standing closet to it. The Queen let out an almighty scream, before falling to the ground dead.
“No, I shall not have the cards that my ancestor created, do any more harm!” Mystic shouted, pointing the Aces straight at the Ace of Spades, the smoke stopped moving.
“What are you doing?” Gisgerm snapped, “You can’t have power over those cards.”
“Obviously I do, because I got them to smash themselves out of your vault, and then repair the vault so you wouldn’t notice,” Mystic replied, “The Doctor has taught me so much, and I know that I can save the day!” Mystic started to walk forward, with his eyes closed and his mind open. The Aces in his hands began to produce more smoke, red, gold and white smoke, which shot straight into the cloud of black smoke.
“No!” Gisgerm cried.
“What the hell is going on?” called the Queen of Spades. Mystic took another step forward and the black smoke faded amongst the red, gold and white smoke. Mystic walked straight up to the table, where the Ace was and placed the other Aces on it. The Aces of Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs smoke shot straight at the Ace of Spades, which caught fire.
“What’s happening to me?” the Jack of Spades asked, as he exploded into nothingness.
“No, no!” the King of Spades exclaimed, as he too, vanished, into black smoke.
“I’m sorry, but you had a choice,” the Doctor muttered, as the Queen of Spades stared at him with her evil eyes, now leaked with terror.
“You will never kill the Spades-argh!” the Queen of Spades hissed, before vanishing too. The other Aces caught fire from the Ace of Spades.
“No, wait!” Mystic said starting forward, as the Queen of Diamonds body vanished, and Conner and the other unconscious people in the room woke up. Teeena ran over to Energisa and hugged her, as Conner ran over to Georgia and hugged her.
“Conner, you’re alive!” Georgia said hugging him, “I thought you were dead!” Georgia began hitting Conner in anger.
“Why did you trust the Jack of Spades?” Georgia snarled, as she hit Conner.
“Ouch, stop!” Conner replied, “That hurts!”
“I’m not sorry, Conner Bennet!” Georgia snapped.
“What’s happened to the Aces, Doctor?” Mystic asked the Doctor, as he stared at the smouldering ashen cards on the table.
“They’ve been destroyed,” the Doctor replied.
“So what’s happened to the card world?” Mystic asked.
“It’s still there,” the Doctor answered.
“And the Spades?” Mystic questioned.
“I don’t know, they might be dead,” the Doctor replied, “But they may still be in the card world, but they won’t have any power there now.” Teeena finished her conversation with Manajarr, who seemed very confused, before heading over to the Doctor with Energisa. Conner and Georgia also walked over to the Doctor too.
“Doctor, is the Queen of Diamonds dead?” Conner asked.
“No, I think because the Ace of Spades was destroyed first, then she’s alive,” the Doctor answered.
“And Doctor, the Queen of Hearts died in the card world, she was attacked by the Ace of Spades in the real world, will she be alive?” Conner asked.
“That’s Queenie!” Teeena interrupted.
“Yes, she’ll be alive too,” the Doctor replied, “Well we’d best be off, I hate tidying up, but first to Gisgerm.” The Doctor turned towards the door, to find that Gisgerm and his henchmen had completely vanished.
“He’s gone,” Georgia commented, “So what exactly happened?”
“I’ll explain later, if I actually understand it all,” Conner answered.
“Doctor, don’t worry, I’ll get the police onto Gisgerm immediately, Rasteika will be able to clear the whole mess up, we can search Gisgerm’s headquarters too,” Teeena explained, “I’m sure we’ll find him.”
“I want to help,” the Doctor said.
“Doctor, you know you’ve done enough, once we’ve ransacked Gisgerm’s headquarters, we’ll know all his contacts and everything about him,” Teeena replied, “Now you go.”
“It’s been great meeting you, the rest of it was pretty bad, but you were great,” Georgia told Teeena, and then hugged her, “You too Energisa!”
“Yeah, I should think so too,” Energisa replied, hugging Georgia.
“And Mystic,” Georgia said hugging Mystic, as the Doctor hugged Teeena, and Conner said his goodbyes too.
“It’s sad, I never got to say goodbye to the person I got to know while I was here,” Conner commented, and Georgia held his hand.
“Bye everyone, you were brilliant Mystic,” the Doctor said.
“Don’t worry about Gisgerm, I’ll find him,” Mystic told him, “And I’m also going to stop gambling, and find out more about my great ancestor.”
“Good luck with that,” the Doctor told him, as he Georgia and Conner headed for the door.
“Bye!” Teeena and Energisa called after them. A few seconds later and a strange noise filled the air, and Teeena knew the Doctor had gone.
The Queen of Diamonds rushed down the steps of her palace and down into the garden, where the beautiful gardens were covered in marquees and cute little tables and chairs. The Diamonds garden party was well underway. The Queen spotted cards playing games, having chats and everybody seemed to be having a good time.
“Darling have you seen Queenie?” the Queen of Diamonds asked the King, who was sharing a bottle of champagne with the Jack of Diamonds.
“No, sorry, have you Jack?” the King replied.
“Yes, I think she and the King of Hearts mentioned something about food,” the Jack of Diamonds replied.
“Thank you,” the Queen of Diamonds said, as she rushed off for the food tent. She stopped at the table where the Clubs were playing poker against each other.
“Alright?” the Queen of Clubs asked, not looking up.
“I’m fine, so you finally started playing poker against each other,” the Queen of Diamonds asked.
“Yeah, turns out the stupid Jack’s really good,” the King of Clubs replied.
“I’m just here,” the Jack of Clubs replied.
“I know,” the King of Clubs replied.
“But it’s alright ‘cos any money we win, goes straight into the Clubs kingdom, and any money we lose goes straight into the Clubs kingdom,” the Queen of Clubs explained, “So we can get money to fix our castle roof and stuff.”
The Queen of Diamonds nodded and walked off, without pointing out the severe flaw in the Clubs new money-making scheme. She entered the food tent, where she found the King of Hearts eating a huge jam doughnut.
“Oh, you okay, ma’am?” the King of Hearts asked.
“I’m fine, how are the Spades?” the Queen of Diamonds asked.
“Locked up in their own dungeon, for eternity,” the King of Hearts replied smiling, “If you’re looking for Queenie, she’s in the kitchen.”
“Thanks, making tarts I presume?” the Queen of Diamonds asked.
“Yes,” the King of Hearts replied smiling.
The Queen of Hearts was happy to be working in the Queen of Diamonds sparklingly white kitchen. She was making tarts by the dozen, all on the beautiful summer’s day. She walked over to the oven, and then quickly turned around to see Jaq, the Jack of Hearts, picking up a tart.
“Caught in the act!” the Queen of Hearts said, “I knew it was you.”
“But they’re just so tasty,” the Jack of Hearts muttered.
“You are not getting away with your cake stealing,” the Queen of Hearts muttered, as the Queen of Diamonds entered the room.
“Queenie,” the Queen of Diamonds said, hugging the Queen of Hearts, “Are you having fun, are you sure don’t want to join the party.”
“No, I’m fine,” the Queen of Hearts replied, “I’ll join the party in a bit, I’m having fun baking.”
“Hang on, there were definitely tarts there a second ago,” the Queen of Diamonds said, a little confused. The Queen of Hearts spun round to see that her newly baked batch of tarts, and the Jack of Hearts, had vanished.
“JAQ!”
Next time:
“We must follow my lady in all fashions.”
“Doctor, I hate this dress!”
“I don’t have a surname; I was left on a doorstep.”
“Doctor, something’s wrong!”
“We killed it, whatever it was.”
“Doctor, you are not fit to be in my social class!”
“What?!”
THE END
