Episode 12: Aquari Aquatics Part 3
“YOU!” Mr. Toil shouted, “It is you who got me here in the first place! And now you return, what are you going to do? Say you were wrong?”
“Nothing like that, you shall never defeat the Doctor,” Rack replied soothingly, “Until perhaps now, it’ll be nice not having to worry if he’s about, now that Gertrude the Time Agent’s vanished, I’ll only have to deal with... the other thing.”
“Well what are you here to do then?” Mr. Toil asked.
“To see what you’ve been up to, among other things,” Rack answered, “Aquari, good idea, clever, the human empire hasn’t quite become great again and the teleport systems are failing, or is that you?”
“It’s my doing as well,” Mr. Toil answered.
“Well done,” Rack said, “Now everything is falling into place.”
“What do you mean?” Mr. Toil asked.
“The Doctor, so far away from here, at a place with no significance,” Rack replied, “Then there’s the Cult who think they can defeat the world. Who are growing in strength now, and will soon put their plans into action.”
Mrs Harrbungershon stared at Georgia and Conner, who stared back.
“We are what you’d call a cult,” Mrs Harrbungershon explained, “A cult who will be strong. We are against the natural order, and we know the government are lying.”
“What do you mean?” Georgia asked.
“The global warming,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied.
“What global warming?” Conner questioned.
“Honestly, where have you been for the last few years?” Dash asked.
“I’m not sure we want this kind of people in our group, they are stupid,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied, “Not now we have people joining every day, from all around the world!”
“Then there are the two survivors,” Rack continued, “The two who will try to halt your plans, today.”
The spaceship zoomed towards Earth. Inside the spaceship two red-skinned aliens were sitting in the control room.
“It was your idea to come to Earth,” one alien was telling the other. She was female and she had short red hair.
“It was a good thing we did head this way Sara,” the other alien, who was a male, replied.
“The Aquari particles,” the female alien, Sara, muttered.
“We can save this planet from destruction,” the male alien announced, “Now ours is a mass of water.”
“What could we do Sam?” Sara asked, “How could we choose who died and who lived? The planet was dying and we were stuck up in the air in this stupid spaceship.”
“We could’ve chosen the most clever and kindest people we know,” Sam replied.
“That would have taken ages to decide, by which time they’d all be dead,” Sara muttered.
“They are all dead,” Sam snapped, “There’s only us left, the only Fidantis left in existence.”
“What made you choose Earth anyway?” Sara asked.
“When our planet was part of the first human empire, they were good to us,” Sam explained, “Alright they began to sell some of us into slavery, but they stopped that.”
“They vanished, like the land on our planet,” Sara muttered, “The great Refregge gone forever.”
“What are the chances that our spaceship would be the only one in the air,” Sam asked.
“Well seeing as though it was a national no-flying day,” Sara answered, “The chances were pretty high, and yet you managed to forget.”
“Well you were asleep,” Sam replied.
“Then there’s the government,” Rack said, “And their scientists, not knowing the danger the world is now in.”
“I don’t see the importance in all this...” Mr. Toil muttered.
“And then there are the four – who will all die!” Rack finished, ignoring Mr. Toil’s interruption.
Natalie stood up and stared at Delilah, she must be going mad, Delilah never lied. Amita and Natasha looked amused, yet Delilah didn’t, she looked very scared. Natalie walked over to Delilah and comforted her.
“Don’t worry Delilah, I won’t let you die,” Natalie told Delilah.
“You believe her?” Natasha asked disbelievingly.
“When does Delilah ever lie?” Natalie asked Natasha and Amita.
“I suppose she never does,” Amita muttered, “But come on, the devil! Yeah like, she probably thinks Cagan is the devil, he did look quite evil to be honest.”
“I’m not talking about my ex-boyfriend!” Delilah shouted.
“Are you sure you saw the devil, it might have been an alien?” Natalie asked.
“Yeah because there are so many aliens around at the moment, the world’s in debt,” Delilah snapped.
“It’s because of those great sea defences the government’s been building,” Amita pointed out, “There’s no shuttles leaving the Earth because there’s not enough money for them, so our empires just dying, there are people coming back, and then they just can’t leave.”
“It is sad,” Natasha muttered, “But no explanation why she’s going on about seeing the devil.”
“It was the devil! He was there! I swear!” Delilah pleaded, “He said I’d die!”
“We’re all going to die dear,” Natalie said.
“You died for a bit, do you remember?” Amita asked Natalie, “Natasha told everyone you were dead, that was hilarious when you contacted me from Dubai, I thought you were in heaven, you said it was gorgeous where you were and I was just like, wow, and there is an afterlife!”
“Don’t bring that up,” Natasha snapped, “Natalie’s already mentioned that to me today.”
“He said I am going to die on January 1st 4000,” Delilah replied.
“That’s in two days,” Amita exclaimed happily.
“Never,” Natasha said sarcastically, “And why are you so happy about that Mitty?”
“I don’t know,” Amita said and a sad expression suddenly appeared on her face.
“Look I know why you don’t believe me,” Delilah muttered, “But it’s the truth.”
“Look I think you need some sleep,” Natasha told Delilah honestly, “You’re always worrying about something, and now you are getting mixed up between what’s real and what isn’t.”
“It’s TRUE!” Delilah shouted, standing up. She stormed out of the cafe with her face in her hands as she cried. There was silence for a few seconds until Natasha stood up.
“Well I’ve got to go,” Natasha said, “Work.”
“What work?” Amita scoffed, Natasha stared at her nastily and walked off.
“I’d better be going too,” Natalie replied, “Kimiko and Margaret are coming to stay early, apparently teleport systems in Japan are closing down, they say its to do with maintenance. I need to finish my shift.”
“Is Korena with them?” Amita asked excitedly.
“No,” Natalie replied simply, “Maybe one day you’ll meet her.”
“Seriously you don’t know how good an actor she is,” Amita said, “Because you don’t know Japanese, I, however, am very good at it.”
“I know some Japanese,” Natalie replied, “Just because I’m not becoming a linguist like you, anyway bye!” Amita and Natalie hugged and then Natalie walked out of the cafe. She walked straight into her boss.
“Oh good afternoon,” Natalie said.
“Natalie, you should be in Los Angeles,” Natalie’ Boss, Mr. Chilvers, said.
“Not when I last looked,” Natalie replied.
“Didn’t you get my message?” M. Chilvers asked.
“No,” Natalie answered with a confused look on her face.
“Well I can’t help that,” Mr. Chilvers replied, “Now hurry up, you’re going to meet Carsyn Hawkes, we’re buying their company, and I’ll send you the details on your phone when you get there.”
“Sir, I can’t, my boyfriend’s aunt and Gran are coming to stay,” Natalie explained, “I may be able to later, but...”
“Is half an hour long enough?” Mr. Chilvers asked.
“An hour,” Natalie replied, “Will this count as my shift?”
“Yes, now go quickly,” Mr. Chilvers ordered and Natalie rushed off.
The Doctor and Korena followed Captain Alton into a laboratory, which was full of machines, maps, papers, test tubes, vats of glowing substances and all kinds of strange things that Korena had never seen before. The Doctor looked very impressed. Private Nash followed the Doctor through the door and locked it. The second soldier, who Korena did not know the name of, was sitting at the end of the room on a sofa, which looked strangely out of place. He was polishing his gun, and looking interestedly at Korena.
“Oooh glow in the dark goo, I love it!” the Doctor exclaimed, “So what’s all this for? Where are all the scientists?”
“They’ve all packed up and left,” Captain Alton replied.
“I know that, but where are they?” the Doctor asked.
“All working in London now,” Captain Alton said, “It’s become scientist central over there now. The city is getting bigger, while other communities shrink. The town which this sea defence is protecting has an extremely low population, some streets are completely empty and it doesn’t help that the whole world’s been plunged into debt, but of course you know that.”
“I don’t actually,” the Doctor muttered.
“Do I know you from somewhere?” the soldier who had been sitting on the sofa asked Korena.
“I doubt it, I don’t get out much,” Korena replied.
“Oh, I’m Private Rolf,” Private Rolf said, “What’s your name?”
“I’m Kimiko Nakamura,” Korena invented.
“You aren’t related to Yoshiro by any chance?” Private Rolf asked.
“No, not at all,” Korena answered.
“Kindly stop talking to the prisoner Private,” Captain Alton ordered, as the Doctor pranced around the laboratory like an excited child.
“Ooh, what’s this then?” the Doctor asked, peering into a vat.
“Aquari particles,” Captain Alton answered.
“Aquari?” the Doctor asked.
“It’s a substance the Aquari puts in their water,” Korena said, “It neutralises any bad bacteria or viruses, making water 100% safe and its good for fish too, there isn’t any chlorine in it, and the fish don’t mind the particles.”
“How do you know that?” the Doctor asked.
“I only drink Aquari bottled water, remember,” Korena replied.
“That’s like that film star, Korena Hashimoto,” Private Nash commented.
“Are you related to her?” Private Rolf asked excitedly and Korena raised her eyebrows, how come nobody recognised her. It was England, she thought, they must be very stupid over here.
“No I’m not,” Korena answered.
“So the Aquari particles are they invisible?” the Doctor asked.
“No, but they’re soluble,” Captain Alton replied, “But are they safe?”
“I don’t know. Why are you asking me?” the Doctor asked.
“We’ve been told that one day soon, we will be asked to pour over 1000000 litres of Aquari particles into the ocean,” Captain Alton answered, “I want to know if its safe before I pour it into the ocean, and you’re supposed to be a doctor of everything, so is it safe?”
“I’ll find out shall I?” the Doctor asked.
“Yes, you shall, do you have enough equipment in here?” Captain Alton asked.
“I should do,” the Doctor replied, “And I’ve got my sonic... my scanner.”
“Well get on with it,” Captain Alton said, sitting down next to Private Rolf on the sofa.
“Korena can you help over here please,” the Doctor asked.
“Yeah, what do you want me to do?’ Korena replied.
“Get all of the tubes over there and bring them over to the vat,” the Doctor answered.
“Doctor, what about Conner and Georgia, where are they?” Korena asked quietly.
“I don’t know, let’s hope they stayed in the TARDIS,” the Doctor muttered.
Georgia and Conner were still waiting for Mrs Harrbungershon to explain what the cult was doing. Georgia was getting extremely tired of all the waiting they were doing.
“Please, just tell us, what are you doing?” Georgia asked frustrated.
“We want to stop the governments of the world,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied, “You see the global warming, it isn’t global warming.”
“How do you know?” Conner asked.
“It’s not getting hotter,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied, “The government are trying to kill us all!” Georgia raised her eyebrows as all the other cult members nodded their heads.
“How did you work that one out?” Conner questioned.
“The government are getting tired of the world’s debt, and the overpopulated cities and towns,” Mrs Harrbungershon explained, “They want the empire back, but they can’t do that while the world’s in debt. They want the scientists and they want all the important people, but they don’t want us ordinary people. The water suddenly begins to rise and the government builds these great sea defences, but what they haven’t told us, and what we know, is that these defences are like gates.”
“Gates?” Georgia replied.
“They swing open and let people into gardens and courts and places,” Dash explained.
“I know what they are!” Georgia snapped.
“They will swing open at the optimum time and release the water!” Mrs Harrbungershon shouted.
“RELEASE THE WATER!” the cult chanted.
“What’s the optimum time?” Conner asked.
“The optimum time will be very soon, trust me,’ Mrs Harrbungershon said smiling, “As soon as their rockets are built.”
“Why do they need rockets?” Georgia asked.
“The rockets will take them off to far away places,” Kufuedun answered, “Away from Earth, as it is destroyed by the water. It will save them from the waves.”
“This is beginning to sound like that film, 2012,” Conner muttered.
“But how are the government making the water levels rise?” Georgia asked exasperatedly.
“It’s the Aquari,” Mrs Harrbungershon muttered.
“The Aquari, is that like the Aquari water supply, from the 21st Century?” Conner questioned.
“I don’t know about it being from the 21st Century, but its certainly been around a while,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied.
“Yes, it started in the 21st Century according to the records Ma’am,” Dash explained, “But how did you know that Conner?”
“I guessed,” Conner said simply.
“Really?” Dash asked, “There’s more about you than meets the eye.”
“This is not important,” Mrs Harrbungershon interrupted, “What is important is that the government are trying to flood the world, it is happening quite slowly, the Aquari particles expand the water, and in that time they distract the public by building the sea defences, while they build rockets to take them away! So we are going to destroy the government!”
“How are you going to do that?” Georgia asked, “Get the public to revolt, become the Prime Minister yourself?”
“Maybe you shouldn’t tell them Ma’am, they don’t seem very trustworthy,” Kufuedun commented.
“We are going to use nuclear bombs,” Mrs Harrbungershon said, “I have many contacts you see and many friends all around the world, we are nearly ready! The cult rises! The governments will fall and the natural order gone. London, New York, Dubai, Tokyo, Paris, Berlline, New Rashio, and all other major cities wiped from the face of the Earth.”
“You can’t!” Georgia shrieked, “What you just said is a load of crap!”
“Where did you get all this information from anyway?” Conner asked.
“My contacts,” Mrs Harrbungershon answered smiling widely.
“Are your contacts as barmy as you?” Conner asked and the smile vanished from Mrs Harrbungershon’s face.
“None of them are as clever as me!” Mrs Harrbungershon roared, “And you may think us mad, but you are non-believers, who shall be KILLED! Restrain them!” Dash, Kufuedun and two other cult members rushed forward and grabbed Georgia and Conner.
“Hold still!” Dash ordered.
“Once the government’s gone, we shall all be safe and those who are non-believers will be wiped out!” Mrs Harrbungershon snarled, “We aren’t just going to destroy the government, these sea defences must go too. In a few days we will be in charge of the planet, I have several flying ships of my own, and all will be filled with me and my friends around the world.”
“You’re basically going to destroy the Earth,” Conner replied, “That makes you as bad as the government are according to you!”
“That is BLASPHEMY!” Kufuedun snapped, striking Conner across the face.
“Leave him alone!” Georgia pleaded.
“It’s not blasphemy, you people are evil, and just plain stupid,” Conner said.
“They have no dress sense either,” Georgia pointed out.
“These clothes aren’t made from your industrialised factories, we live from the earth!” Mrs Harrbungershon explained, “As all people should do. You will see that once the water is trickling into your lungs. Take them out of my site, put them in the cells!” Four cult members dragged Georgia and Conner away as Dash and Kufuedun plunged themselves into deep conversation with Mrs Harrbungershon.
“Are we going to kill them?” Dash asked.
“Perhaps,” Mrs Harrbungershon replied, “When the time is right...”
Lee Hashimoto had been explaining the effects of the water around the world to the Prime Minister and he had been talking for a long time. Donald Digit had called the emergency services and they had searched the ice sheet where Quentin and Antony had been, but they were nowhere to be seen, the ice sheet, however, had cracked in two.
“Seriously, this is getting boring now,” Julian muttered, “And the Prime Minister’s going to miss his afternoon tea.”
“I’m sorry, we are now onto the important part,” Lee explained, “The Scientists from the Aquari water supply have been using these alien Aquari particles.”
“I have heard about these particles,” the Prime Minister said.
“I’m sure you have sir,” Donald Digit said smiling.
“These particles have been tested and double tested and triple tested,” Lee explained, “And no fault has been found, you see the Aquari particles are completely safe, no diseases can get past them.”
“Yes, I know I have them in my water,” the Prime Minister explained, “But carry on.”
“You see,” Julian exclaimed, ‘You wasted the Prime Minister’s time, naughty naughty!”
“I said carry on,” the Prime Minister ordered.
“Oh, yes sir, sorry sir,” Julian replied.
“These particles have been released in all drinking water around the world, which is why there hasn’t been a single case of water-spread disease for over 30 years,” Lee continued, “Recently, however, research shows that these particles cause water to shrink, they literally compress the water. Experiments show that if we release these particles into the ocean, the sea levels will drop dramatically, we have to release thousands of litres of this substance into the ocean and we need your permission to do so.”
“Couldn’t that be dangerous?” the Prime Minister asked.
“No, its been tested, fish and sea creatures are fine living in this compressed water,” Lee explained, “It doesn’t seem to affect them.”
“Well, I will need to see the reports on these particles,” the Prime Minister said.
“Mr. Toil, one of the heads of the Aquari company, has brought the files here,” Donald said, “He can’t be here himself, he’s rather busy you see.”
“The head of the Aquari Company was killed when the bridge collapsed yesterday night,” Lee explained.
“Why haven’t I been informed that this was the man who died?” the Prime Minister asked, “Not even his family have been told, the police have kept the scene under wraps.”
“Yes why wasn’t the Prime Minister informed?” Julian asked angrily.
“I’m sorry sir, I have no idea,” Lee replied.
Natalie rushed into her flat and switched on the lights, Kimiko and Margaret were about to arrive and she had to be in Los Angeles in less than 10 minutes. There had been a long queue for the teleport booths, and Natalie was not impressed. Due to Lee being promoted to one of the chief Scientists in Great Britain, he had been earning much more money, and he had recently bought a teleport booth for his apartment. It began to flash as Natalie entered the room, and inside the booth Margaret and Kimiko Hashimoto appeared, with large bags.
“Natalie!” Margaret exclaimed as she exited the teleport booth.
“It’s lovely to see you,” Natalie said.
“Doukan,” Margaret replied.
“Are you both ok?” Natalie asked.
“Hai, arigatou,” Margaret answered.
“That’s fine thank you, right?” Natalie replied.
“That’s right Natalie, well done,” Kimiko said.
“Your English is really good,” Natalie said, “I must find time to learn Japanese properly.”
“Thank you Natalie,” Kimiko replied, “We’re sorry about having to come here early, we don’t know what’s going on in Tokyo, Kaito will not be coming now.”
“I know, it’s not very good is it,” Natalie responded, “Something must have happened with the power over there, over here it hasn’t gone faulty yet.”
“Hontou?” Margaret asked, as the teleport booths lights switched off.
“Oh no!” Natalie exclaimed, “It’s going to take Lee ages to get home now!”
Rack smiled as the teleport’s around the world turned off simultaneously, and Mr. Toil observed and smiled.
“How did you do that?” Mr. Toil asked.
“I’m brilliant,” Rack replied, “Now onto business, when do your plans commence?”
“I don’t know, but that really doesn’t involve you,” Mr. Toil said.
“I suppose not,” Rack replied, “Although I do like to be well informed, after all it is I who got you here.”
“You told me that I wouldn’t defeat the Doctor, not for a long time, and you even showed me the Doctor in his tenth incarnation to prove it,” Mr. Toil snarled, “You did not technically get me here.”
“You came in your TARDIS didn’t you?” Rack asked.
“That’s right,” Mr. Toil muttered.
“The Master and his TARDIS, and the Doctor and his,” Rack said smiling, “What a show this will be!” Rack cackled and vanished in a puff of smoke.
