Time Warped Special: Harry Potter Part 1
The Doctor ran along the alleyway. The rain hammered down on his long brown coat, and made him shiver. He had lost Georgia and Conner about an hour ago. Still, he knew they’d be alright. He knew chasing and capturing the Colossal was much more important. He ran on, cursing as his plimsolls splashed in the puddles outside the Track Shop. The 31st Century might be many years away from the 21st, but the weather wasn’t much different.

A Colossal is an alien creature of unknown size. It has the ability to transform into any shape, but legend says that they used to be stuck in the form of colossal beast, frozen in form by the Eternals. This is why they are called Colossals. As they have the ability to transform shape, no one truly knows what they look like. They are fearsome creatures, who meddle with time. They feast on Human flesh, as well as the changing of time, by sending people into places they were never meant to be. He is one of the prominent from the Trickster’s brigade, and relishes causing havoc in the Trickster’s name. This particular Colossal escaped from Strata Minor, in the Gallodop System, from the planet know as Sol 879. Its registered number is 314504626746587489453475666.
The Shadow Proclamation sent the Time Lord called the Doctor to deal with the Colossal. He tracked it down to Earth, and the 31st Century. He and companions Georgia Bell and Conner Bennet struggled to defeat the Colossal in Venice, and travelled to London to face it once more. After a showdown, Georgia and Conner have vanished, pronounced ‘lost in time’. The Time Lord is still tracking down the Colossal in London, and that is the last status report we have received.
Yours truly,
Huntress.

Things have gone wrong. I was tracking the Doctor in Portugal, but I lost him. I did a scan for alien tech, and discovered not a sign of the Doctor, but a trace of Colossal RT Technology. I found the Doctor’s Type 40 TT TARDIS, empty. I did not, of course, venture inside, but found out by other means.
Things picked up in Brazil, however. I chanced upon the Colossal, and chased him into America. We fought in Texas, and nearly destroyed Florida’s Disney Land. Fortunately, not too much damage was done. Well, not irreparable damage.
Anyway, I managed to shoot the Colossal, but he travelled to Clipton via a teleport system. I am heading there on the Flamp Bus, and will arrive shortly. He should be easy to hunt, as he is trailing blood. The only problem is I fear he managed to capture the Doctor and his companions, and as he was shot, they could end up anywhere. He is fairly stable, so they will only probably filter through the time lines of one place. The Doctor’s team have a close bond, so I have no doubt they will be together.
I will bring the Colossal’s body back shortly, and then head out to repair America. A press conference is necessary for Galaxies 45, 67 and 802. Otherwise, I suggest you carry on as normal at Castor.
Yours truly,
Huntress.
Conner and Georgia were surrounded by mist. They could faintly see blurry shapes around them, which they knew to be people. They noticed that they were shrinking. Georgia shrank more than Conner, and both ended up looking like eleven year olds. Conner said he suspected they were eleven now. The mist cleared and they found themselves both clutching a letter. Conner glanced at his. It read like this:

“Oh my God!” Georgia said, reading over Conner’s shoulder.
“We’re going to Hogwarts!” Conner laughed.
“What about the Doctor?” Georgia asked.
“We can look for him! He’s bound to be in Diagon Alley! Or at Hogwarts!” Conner grinned.
“I suppose,” Georgia said. “So, shall we go to Gringotts?”
“We don’t have money!” Conner laughed.
“We’re here aren’t we? Everything’s got to be provided for this to work,” Georgia said.
“Shall we find out?” Conner asked.
Conner led the way to Gringotts Wizarding Bank. They passed through the busy streets of Diagon Alley. Georgia turned her head in every direction as they walked up the street, trying not to look at everything at once: the shops, the things outside them, the people doing their shopping. A plump woman outside an Apothecary was shaking her head as they passed, saying, ‘Dragon liver, seventeen Sickles an ounce, they’re mad…’
Conner muttered to Georgia out of the corner of his mouth, saying, ‘that’s a goblin.’ Georgia looked in Conner’s eye line to see the goblin. The goblin was about a head shorter than Georgia and Conner’s now eleven year old bodies, and had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard and, Georgia noticed, very long fingers and feet. He bowed as they walked inside the Bank. Conner pointed to his left, and they saw a silver plaque, with words engraved upon them:
Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their return,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their return,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.
“Well you’d better hope we have money here,” Georgia said.
Conner snorted with laughter, and a grin spread on Georgia’s face. They began hooting with laughter, and laughed even more when a goblin came up and asked if they needed assistance.
“Sorry!” Georgia laughed. “We’re here to collect some money!”
“Do you have a key?” the goblin asked.
“Um…” Conner said, trying not to laugh.
Georgia began to giggle, but thrust her fist into her mouth to stifle her giggles.
“We don’t have one,” Conner said.
“What are your names?” the goblin asked, walking over to a desk.
“Conner Bennet,” Conner said.
“Georgia Bell,” Georgia said.
“Everything seems in order. If you feel well enough, we shall proceed down to your vaults,” the goblin said.
Immediately, Georgia and Conner stopped laughing. The goblin led them to the vaults, and the scene dissolved into the mist again. The scene changed, and the mist vanished. Conner and Georgia looked around at the terrified faces of the people stood in the line with them. They looked and in front of them were four long tables, each with pupils gazing up at them. Georgia looked at Conner in shock.
“It’s the sorting!” she whispered. “Look, there’s the Sorting Hat!”
Conner looked to a few feet away, and saw a stool with a ragged old hat sat on it. Around them, Conner could hear students muttering to themselves and each other. They were saying things like, ‘I hope I get into Hufflepuff,’ ‘Ravenclaw is for smart people, I’ll never get in there,’ or ‘Gryffindor and Slytherin hate each other don’t they?’
After a few minutes of nervous silence, everyone in the hall was now staring at the hat. For a few seconds, there was a deafening silence. Then the hat twitched. A rip near the brim opened wide like a mouth – and the hat began to sing:
‘Oh you may not think I’m pretty,
But don’t judge on what you see,
I’ll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There’s nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can’t see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where the brave dwell at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you’ve a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You’ll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don’t be afraid!
And don’t get in a flap!
You’re in safe hands (though I have none)
For I’m a Thinking Cap!
But don’t judge on what you see,
I’ll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There’s nothing hidden in your head

The whole hall burst into applause as the ht finished its song. It bowed to each of the four tables and then became quite still again. Professor McGonagall now stepped forward holding a long roll of parchment.
“When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted,” she said. “Abbott, Hannah!”
A pink-faced girl with blonde pigtails stumbled out of line, put on the hat, which fell right down over her eyes, and sat down. A moment’s pause-
“HUFFLEPUFF!” shouted the hat.
The table on the right cheered and clapped as Hannah went to sit down at the Hufflepuff table.
“Bell, Georgia!” Professor McGonagall called.
“Oh Christ! I forgot I would be this early!” Georgia muttered.
“I’ll probably be next!” Conner gasped.
Clutching her wand tightly, Georgia walked over to the stool, and sat down on it. She placed the hat over her head, and fortunately it didn’t slip down too much.
“Hmmm,” the Sorting Hat said. “I see two paths before you. Two houses, two destinies. You’re clever, very clever. You’ve seen all sorts of things. You’ve had training from… A Doctor. You would do well in Ravenclaw. However, you are brave, so brave… You’ve seen many things. I think I will put you in… GRYFFINDOR!”
Conner clapped and cheered along with the table on the far right. Conner could hear two boys catcalling, and with a jolt of excitement, recognised the voices of Fred and George Weasley. Conner wondered what year Harry Potter and his friends were in. Conner wondered whether they would become friends with the famous wizard. Conner hoped so.
“Bennet, Conner,” Professor McGonagall called.
Every stared as Conner made his way over to the stool. He perched on it, and rammed the Sorting Hat on his head. It began to talk.
“Ah, I see you’re a friend of Miss Bell,” the Sorting Hat whispered in his ear. “And together you travelled further than anyone could ever imagine. And who is this mysterious Doctor I can’t see? I am the Sorting Hat; I can see everything, even your feelings for Miss Bell. But why can’t I see the Doctor, and which house do I put you in?”
“You’re supposed to tell me,” Conner said stubbornly.
“That’s sorted it. You’d make a fine- GRYFFINDOR!” the Sorting Hat yelled.
“That’s two in a row!” a Gryffindor student shouted. “Woo!”
Conner grinned and walked to sit next to Georgia at the Gryffindor table. Shortly after, Susan Bones went to Hufflepuff; Terry Boot went to Ravenclaw, Mandy Brocklehurst went to Ravenclaw too, and Lavender Brown joined Conner and Georgia at the Gryffindor table. Conner recognised the names of Lavender, Terry and Susan from the Harry Potter books, and realised that he was in Harry’s year. He explained all this to Georgia with excited whispers.
“Wow! I hope he’s our friend,” Georgia muttered.
“But I’m not sure he can be,” Conner said “after all, he’s supposed to be friends with Ron and Hermione, and if we were his friends, we mess up time!”
“Doesn’t mean we can’t be his friends,” Georgia muttered.
Millicent Bulstrode became a Slytherin, Justin Finch-Fletchley went to Hufflepuff, and Seamus Finnegan became a Gryffindor before another name Conner knew well was called.
“Granger, Hermione,” McGonagall called.
Hermione almost ran to the stool and jammed the hat eagerly on her head.
“GRYFFINDOR!” the hat shouted.
Conner remembered other notable sortings: Neville Longbottom, who became a Gryffindor, Draco Malfoy became a Slytherin the moment the hat touched his head, Pansy Parkinson was sent to Slytherin, the Patil twins, Parvati and Padma were separated, Parvati going into Gryffindor, while Padma joined Ravenclaw, Harry Potter himself, who joined Gryffindor, and sat down opposite Conner, and Ron Weasley, who became a Gryffindor, and nudged Georgia aside so he could sit with his family.
After a very satisfying meal, the remaining food vanished, and the mist appeared in the air once more. Georgia looked worriedly at Conner, but the scene dissolved before she could react.
The scene changed once more, but Conner and Georgia were once again sat in the Great Hall. Georgia was startled to realise Lavender and Parvati had been talking to her. She replied with the first thing that came into her head. Parvati looked at her strangely, before continuing.
“She’s really upset. I don’t know what Ron said to her, but she was crying in the girl’s toilets, and told me to go away when I asked if she was alright! She’d better come out soon, she’s missing the Halloween feast,” she said.
“I feel sorry for Hermione, but she is a bit of a bossy know-it-all,” Lavender said.
Georgia was about to reply, but the bang of the main doors flying open stopped her. Professor Quirrell, their Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher was running in between the two middle tables, heading for the staff table, which faced the student’s. He looked around, before speaking.
“Troll! Troll- in the Dungeons- thought you ought to know,” he said, before sinking to the floor in a dead faint.
The scene became misty again, and Georgia looked around to see where Conner was. He was at the far end of the table, however, and she could not reach him in time. When the scene changed, and the mist faded, Georgia found that they hadn’t missed out on very much time at all, and she was in the line of Gryffindors Percy Weasley was leading towards the common room. Just behind her was Harry and Ron, and she heard them whispering, ‘we’ve got to warn Hermione- she doesn’t know!’, and ‘all right then… Fine, lets go’ from Ron. She saw them break off from the line, and sneak off. Determined not to lose them, Georgia grabbed Conner’s arm and together they hurried after them.
By the time Georgia and Conner found Harry and Ron, they had to dive behind a pillar because Harry and Ron were running away from a door. They had just grabbed the key, slammed the door and locked it.
“Yes!” Ron cried, punching the air.
Georgia and Conner ran out to Harry and Ron when they heard the scream.
“Oh no!” Harry moaned quietly.
“It’s the girl’s toilets!” Georgia said.
“Hermione!” Harry and Conner said together.
“Come on!” Georgia said, running to the door.
